Zam Zam is, and always has been, dedicated to creating meaningful and sustainable change in collaboration with communities around the world. Through organization-wide evaluation and introspection we continue to work to better align the organization with our values, mission, and vision. Zam Zam believes that it is crucial to confront any inequities that exist within our organization as we work to create more equity in the world around us.

In 2018, this commitment led us to collaborate with many experts in our community including a Behavioral Health Manager and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Zili Khan. With their support and consultation, a new branch of the organization was created to support our ever-growing number of committed volunteers and valued supporters.

Volunteer Resources provides strategic, tactical, and confidential support to increase accountability as we continue to operate as a 100% volunteer-based organization. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage organization-wide professional development

  • Oversee all volunteer issues and concerns that arise

  • Ensure regulatory government compliance

  • Leverage and promote feedback mechanisms to increase levels of volunteer engagement and commitment

  • Develop and maintain Zam Zam policies and procedures related to hiring, training, and management of volunteers

  • Volunteer Resources serves as a direct line of communication for any internal and external concerns

At Zam Zam, we understand unequivocally that our work is not possible with your continued advocacy and trust. If you are not a current Zam Zam volunteer and you have feedback related to an experience with the organization or its members, contact Volunteer Resources at resources@zamzamwater.org.

Volunteer Resources is co-directed by Pacific Northwest Director Mashall Rezayee and Board Member Samantha Coon.
